Mukhteshwar Trail......

and she just wished she was the one...

never did she know she was the one...

Anyways let's get on the trip, this time, there was no plan as such. I had planned on going to Rishikesh, Lansdowne and to my alma mater in Mussoorie. I had a bike and for a second, I thought of doing this trip. I somehow stumbled upon a website named meetup, there were numerous weekend plans on this site. I don't deny it ever, I have an ultimate love for hill stations maybe someday I wish to have a home on one of those mountains. Finally, I made up my mind and I had very little time at my disposal to decide, I called up the person in charge of the trip at around 05:00pm in the evening. The only thing I asked him ki "Buddy, I have an issue, there shouldn't be issues with people" and he was very cordial. The plan was simple, i.e there was no plan of mine for the first time. The itinerary was laid out and I wanted to see if it really worked or not.

I don't prefer reaching late for an event or anywhere for that matter, but somehow I miscalculated the time and ended up 15 minutes late, Nitin( I will call the man in charge by this name for the blog) didn't make any hue and cry of it and I was the last to board the vehicle. Free ki advice "Never be late in the group, you end up getting the worst seat in the vehicle".

there it is.. a pic from the rear seat :D

The journey was all hunky dory except for a few mosquitoes who were loving the healthy blood bank available for them.
Everyone would be up for a cup of tea wherever we halted, but then uncle ke naam pe..
( uncle ne chai peena hai, ruk jao kahi)

The morning was beautiful and the scenery was ecstatic.
Acorn is the fruit of an Oak tree.

The Breakfast point... gyaan ka adaan praadan wala location...
Nitin Bhaiya with the gyan...
Up Next was the Holi celebration in the nearby village. One thing about this kind of trip, there will always be someone who is offbeat from the entire team. The person (I would refrain from calling him/she coz that might make me an MCP) was not interested in going for celebration. This person said we should just sit at the campsite but later on better sense prevailed and the person joined us much to our disappointment.

It was an experience to celebrate Holi with the villagers. They move from one house to another and dancing to their tunes and merrymaking. We did try to match there steps but it was a futile effort.
After watching the video below you would not agree to disagree, we sure couldn't match their steps.

Villagers dancing to their own tune.

There was only one person with a selfie stick, and to make things clear, it wasn't me :D
No love for selfies, but yes here we do!!!! :D

Up next was back to the campsite and getting ready and going for rappelling and rock climbing.
The view as usual breathtaking.

The flowers have just blossomed and they were beautiful.

Ropes were being laid for Rappelling and rock climbing.

The entire group. For a change, I was not the photographer (Nitin).
The young man we see in shirt and pant is a 64 years old retired personnel from All India Radio.
The kind of energy he had was an inspiration for us and for me, I would envy him. At his age, I would love to travel but I don't know if I will.
Btw all his stories were amazing.
His only regret from the trip, He couldn't see a real BAAGH (TIGER)

For a moment, I feel the only thing which God took time to make were the mountains, even without symmetry it looks beautiful.
Another free ki advice " Are you feeling LOW??? Go on Mountains."

Free ki advice " Pahado ki maggi khaa lena ek baar"

It was disappointing, as we couldn't see the sunset. The clouds had the last laugh and we were left bewildered.

The place has been named after the temple "Mukhteshwar Temple" or it might be vice versa.
People say every mountain has their own God.

After a long day, we head back to camp and the bonfire was set up, another free advice (it's not your hometown, respect the nature, avoid loud music coz it will kill the natural voices of birds and animals you would hear.)
I would prefer to sing around the bonfire and not play some loud music.
We sure had our fun in the serenity, adding to it...
Ask me about the gulab jamun story later...

I know nothing wonderful about the pic, but then it's 11pm and the pic has been taken by my phone. :P

Uncle is the Photographer here...  Sunrise at the campsite.
If only I could stay at this place forever...
Next up for the day was a visit to waterfall and an activity they call fox-flying or we call it zip line.

Some people woke up after the holi hangover and brought odomos for brushing... :D
and some were more interested in playing a game of Volleyball.

Light has always been a metaphoric thing.
There is green and there is blue...
I don't want red, it blinds me...

the trek to the waterfall...
We did find some future chaiwala, revri wala and coldrinks guy in between the trek.

He was standing for a click and things turned out bad for him... :D
FYI, he would say No to everything except the clicks... :D

Superstar Uncle... :D

The waterfall was finally here and the water was crystal clear.
The water was dead cold. No one would dare to enter, but not for a young lady
(I am just making it, she wasn't young :D)
had it not been a bet for a gulab jamun, I would never ever have entered into those freezing water.

Terrace farming is an art...

Lunch was on....

Read this line carefully...
Ripley's believe it or not se khatarnak hai ye ...

I hope Mr Kejriwal implements it in Delhi, will save him a lot of money...

This place has the best chocolates in Mukhteshwar...
They even have Rum chocolates etc....
Finally, the day ends with a bonfire...

With the Superstar. Uncle...
who had an uncanny resemblance to  Brahmanandam( Indian film actor and comedian, known for his works predominantly in Telugu cinema)
It was so much fun with him...

Ride back to Delhi, another free advice " Do pop in a cola josh wali toffee(which I suppose comes free) in case you are one of those, who would puke while traveling around the mountains.
Had the trip been a day longer, was all we thought of...
Thanks, Triphooters (NITIN & CHITRA)
