Why I m against the current Reservation system

I remember once when I was in class fourth there was an announcement in the class that whoever is SC/ST please come forward. Each one of us where looking to each other and were wondering what is this SC/ST. But there was one  who stood up and went, he filled some form and that was it, we were still not sure what was it.  Time flew and years passed school was over and yes I was also one of the many who were trying for the prestigious colleges like IIT's (all) and NIT’s (at least some)....and then came the decision of another quota bracket being created of OBC's and verdict said keep the quota as in 9% for 2008 and 18% for 2009 and 27% for 2010 (correct me if I am wrong about the year).. I was the unlucky one ... yes I was the unlucky one who gave the JEE in the year when the quota was 27% for the OBC's 14+7 for the SC/ST...... And of course I was lucky enough that the Supreme Court had passed the order for quota not to be 50%... the result came and I missed ...

College Story

COLLEGE TIMES.... I along with my friend stand in line for books to be issued in the library.... Please don’t take us as studious people, we were taking the semester books which we had to take a month back. The people ahead of us moved and we along with pile of thick 8 to 9 books moved with the line. Just as my friend reaches the counter, the phone of librarian who happens to be a very helpful lady rings and she receives the call and we wait there.. ma’am: “ acha theek hai main dekhti hu kya karna” she nods a few times and says some more phrases like “ok” etc suddenly she says : “khana khaya kiye kin ahi” my friend standing just infront of her replies back “haan ma’am aloo parantha khaye hain” everybody standing nearby burst into laughter. And he was seriously thinking that ma’am had asked him about his breakfast…

college story....

Morning it was….. as usual we had again come up with something unique, knowing it would be a hard task but who the hell could question Anku Ji… we had talked to a local milkman near the college gate and he had agreed to sell us milk but he had designated the morning time.. We a group of around 12 guys had divided ourselves in a group of 3 people in each group. I had Panja and Ravi in my group. To tell you the work we had to do was one would fetch the milk in the morning and the second one would boil and the third had the work of cleaning the utensils. Now these tasks were on a round robin basis within the group. But it was on one’s group how to do divide the task. We had our own group and we had a thinking why would one wake up and fetch the milk, so all three had to get up and on our days and boiling and cleaning was divided. One fine morning all three of us set out to get the milk… College gate Guard 1: aaplog kaha jaa rahe hain?? Panja: bhai wo humlog aarahe hai thodi der m...

If only I could unwind the time....

Image
If only I could unwind the time, I would use it to the best of my ability. I wouldn’t possibly say everything that is in my mind, but I would be more thoughtful of all I say. I would give merit to things not for what they are worth, but for what they mean to express. I would definitely sleep little, I would dream more, because I know that for every minute that we close our eyes, we waste 60 seconds of light. I would walk while others stop; I would awake while others sleep. If only I could unwind the time , I would have learned so much from you all, I would have always said what I felt rather than what I thought. If I knew that these are the last time I am seeing you, I would say “I love you”. There is always tomorrow, and life gives us another opportunity to do things right; but in case I am wrong, and today is all that is left to me, I would love to tell you how much I love you and that I will never forget you, you people were the best thing happened to me in the college. ...
